The Australian Air League Diploma’s are the highest education award that is available to members.

The Diploma’s fall into three categories:

Diploma
  • General

Members complete 15 subject badges, plus one optional subject badge, in 3 stages. Badges are both theory and practical subjects. Badge work can be completed through the Squadron or home study. On completion of the Diploma the member received a Certificate of Attainment and the Gold General Aviation badge.

  • Aviation

Members complete 15 subject badges, plus one optional subject badge, in 3 stages. Badges are aviation theory subjects. Badge work can be completed through the Squadron or home study. On completion of the Diploma the member received a Certificate of Attainment and the Silver Aviation Diploma Badge.

  • Gold

Members must have attained both the General and Aviation diploma. They are then required to complete the Advanced Aviation Knowledge Badge and the Gold Diploma is awarded. Badge work can be completed through the Squadron or home study. On completion of the Diploma the member received a Certificate of Attainment and the Gold Diploma badge.

Development goals

  • The Padstow Squadron education program is designed to assist Cadets to gain their Diploma, with subjects taught at Squadron level those needed for stages of each Diploma. As with any higher education goal, participants gain in-depth knowledge from the subjects completed, commitment, perseverance, confidence in achievement, planning and study skills.

On completion of each Diploma they gain an impressive reference to accompany them through their career interviews. Even if they do not pursue a career in aviation, the Diploma; and the commitment behind it; is a document which would impress any selection panel.
